The Center for Disease Control reported that there are 76 million cases of food-borne illnesses every year in the United States. From all these cases, 300,000 people need to stay in the hospital and 5,000 die.

Most of these cases may happen during holidays. Instead of spending your rest days inside the hospital because of food poisoning, it’s better to celebrate it at home preparing for a safe and healthy food.

Food politics refer to the factors that influence the availability of food before it reaches the consumers.

Government, per se, is the top regulator in food production and distribution. Food safety is also an aspect that the government can strongly impact, as it has the function of carrying out inspections among private and public food producers. Perhaps a promotional usb with a food safety theme could raise awareness in certain sectors.

The level of technology used on food production can affect various factors, such as food quality, quantity of produce, and food production efficiency. However, there are apparent disadvantages brought about by mass production of goods using artificial or synthetic raw materials. The development of new diseases, due to high amount of artificial ingredients, is among the numerous issues being considered by scientists. The controversial genetically-modified foods have received criticism because of potential illnesses that may arise upon its consumption. Environmental degradation is also pinpointed to the by-products of food production factories, as high levels of greenhouse gases released by these factories pose a long-term hazard to the environment and the people’s health.
